Deb Kozak, Andrew Kozak and their two daughters.

And I’m running for Westchester County Legislator in District 16.

Stretching from the border communities along the Hudson River.
Homecrest to Ludlow. Nepperham to Gramatan Hills. And all neighborhoods in between.

I was born and raised in the Bronx. The oldest of my parent’s children.

While working a full-time day job I put myself through college at night.

In 1997 I graduated from Westchester Community College with two degrees ---- Business Accounting and Civil Technologies.

I was inducted into the Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society.

In 2002 I graduated from The Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Project Management as well as winning the college’s Certificate of Excellence Award for Outstanding Merit.

My construction career started as a field secretary, and I worked my way up to Project Manager.

The projects I worked on were commissioned by some of the country’s renowned developers & architects. New construction of courthouses, hotels, schools, A federal detention center, NYPD forensic lab, and even the restoration of Radio City Music Hall.

In 2005 my husband Andrew and I welcomed our first daughter—a beautiful and happy child. Six months later we learned she had a rare metabolic disease and my life changed at that very moment. In 2007 our second daughter was born with the same condition.

In the years that followed, I was very busy learning how to keep them alive and healthy. I learned
so much that I authored a guidebook for caregivers and I even self-published it.

I’m not a politician and have not been a civil servant, nor held elected office. I’m a wife, a mother, and a business owner. We need more of that in government.  Fresh ideas and a fresh start.

That’s what I’ll bring to the County when I’m elected the next Legislator of District 16.
